The ask: Oscar Mayer was changing every hotdog they make. They removed all the added nitrates, nitrites, by-products and artificial preservatives in every single one. Making a better hotdog than anyone else on the market. They needed to get the news out there in a big and bold way.
The idea: First, tell people the news. Then, prove it to them. We created a Summer-long mission to get one of their better hotdogs in everyone's hand. No matter where. No matter what. We used the Wienermobile, their hot-dogger employees, a lot of social #ForTheLoveOfHotdogs and a little bit of ingenuity to canvas the country and accomplish our mission.
But first... We needed to create a larger fleet of vehicles to get them into everyone's hands. So we designed, tested, and built a line-up of vehicles that would be just as attention getting and cool as the original Wienermobile. Each with their own specialty.
NO MATTER WHERE. NO MATTER WHAT. To prove out our mission we took the Wienermobile on a barge to Alaska. Then we drove it hundreds of miles to one of the most remote towns in Alaska- population of only 200 people. Just to put a hotdog in every person's hand. No matter how remote the destination. And we didn't stop there...
After hotdogs, they wanted us to move their bacon. So we created the Online Bacon Message Generator. Oscar Mayer wanted a social campaign that would tell people how perfect their bacon is. Instead of telling people, we let people tell others by using the first ever bacon message generator. Anyone could create messages using bacon and share them out with people on Facebook. The perfect message starts with the perfect bacon.
